Meet Lainey (PPP) — happiness on four legs

Lainey (PPP) is one of our newest recruits, having only recently arrived at the shelter. This beautiful brindle girl has already made quite an impression. She’s a total ray of sunshine
, with a stunning coat, a sparkle in her beautiful eyes and a personality that seems to say, “Come on then, let’s go and do something together!”
If Lainey remains in Spain, she will need a **PPP licence, which is very easy to obtain and something we can help her future family with. Importantly, this is **not a requirement in the UK and many other European countries, so please don’t let the PPP label put you off.

She doesn’t seem to have had much experience walking on a lead, but honestly? She’s doing brilliantly. Considering the shelter is noisy, busy and full of sights, sounds and smells that would overwhelm many dogs, Lainey takes it all in her stride. She’s confident, curious and, most importantly, she’s having fun.

And then came the doggy park…
All by herself, Lainey absolutely lost the plot with happiness.
She bounced around, explored, ran, played and generally behaved as though she had just discovered the best place on earth. Watching her enjoy herself was pure joy.
But there was one thing missing. Someone to share it with.
Because as much as Lainey is making the most of every opportunity she gets, she shouldn’t have to experience all that happiness in little borrowed moments between kennel life and shelter walks. She deserves a family who will give her a life full of adventures, silly moments, sofa time and someone to come home to.

She’s friendly with other dogs and always keen to say hello and make new friends on her walks, so we think she could be a wonderful addition to a fun-loving family, with or without another dog.

And there’s something we’ve learnt from experience: dogs can arrive at the shelter full of the joys of spring. They cope. They adapt. They make the most of whatever they’re given.
But when they realise this is not a temporary stop… when the weeks turn into months… that sparkle can begin to fade.
We don’t want that to happen to Lainey.
She is far too full of life, love and mischief to spend her youth waiting behind kennel bars.
We want Lainey’s sparkle to be something she gets to keep — not something she slowly loses behind a kennel door.
